Mike brings over 25 years of experience in forest land management, natural resource enhancement, and rural property development to his role at TerraStone Land Company. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Mike earned his Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1999, followed by a Master of Business Administration in 2001. Mike began his career as a consulting forester with Bird Forestry, a family-owned firm rooted in sustainable land stewardship. In 2003, he became President of Silva-Tech South, Ltd., a sister company focused on reforestation, land clearing, and herbicide application—services essential to improving both the ecological and investment value of rural land. In 2010, Mike joined Advanced Ecology, Ltd. (AEL) as Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Over the past decade, he has been directly involved in the permitting, construction, and management of 25 mitigation and conservation banks across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. These large-scale land projects have deepened his expertise in land development, habitat restoration, and long-term land investment strategy. Now serving as Co-CEO of AEL and a key member of the TerraStone Land Company team, Mike specializes in timberland management, rural land acquisition, contract negotiation, and development oversight. His deep-rooted knowledge of land use and natural resource management uniquely equips him to help clients unlock the full value of their property investments across East Texas and the surrounding region.
